The "Damping Tape" is a viscoelastic material used in the damping devices of high-rise buildings, processed into double-sided tape for wooden houses, and has a high durability of over 110 years. During a major earthquake, columns and beams deform into a parallelogram, while the surface materials resist and remain rectangular, causing a shift between them, which can bend or break the nails that fix the columns, beams, and surface materials. By inserting our product, which is 1mm thick, into these shifting areas, the squishy viscoelastic material converts vibrational energy into thermal energy, reducing the shaking of the house.
